Introducing SY Meltemi
Meltemi is named after a wind in the Mediterranean Sea. She is our first catamaran: a French-built Lagoon 500, one of the most successful yachts ever designed for high-end charter.
Meltemi is easy to sail, all winches are electric and can be fully controlled from the large flybridge.
She's a great yacht for groups of friends or families and there is lots of space to play or lounge. When under sail, most guests just love to lie in the nets at the bow with the water splashing below.
Cabins & Quarters
Meltemi has 4 comfortable guest cabins, each with king-sized beds, en-suite bathrooms and separate air-conditioning. The spacious owner's suite in the starboard hull has its own couch area and a large bathroom (or "head", as they are called on boats).
Her bright, wooden interior gives Meltemi a generous and modern feeling. Cabins are accessed through the central saloon, where the open kitchen (or "galley") and the navigation station are located.
She is well equipped with 3 large fridges, an oven, a microwave, a water maker, sound and video entertainment systems, warm and cold water, etc.
Captain Nolte is originally from South Africa, where he started his work life in the hospitality industry. His long passion for the sea motived him to follow his dream and look for a position aboard a yacht from where he worked his way up to become a captain. Nolte is a passionate diver, a surfer, photographer and hobby musician.
Kayin is Meltemi's chef and he is known for his big smiles and his mouthwatering meals - which don't fail to make his guests smile. You have to try his stuffed squid! Or the Burmese pea soup. Or the slow-cooked beef. We could go on... Kayin is also a proud father of a beautiful son.
Zoley has been with us for from the start and will be your guide and steward. He'll show you the most beautiful snorkelling spots, will get the kayaks ready for you and prepare your espresso macchiato after dinner. Zoley is Meltemi's first mate and our guests' safety is always his first concern.
Lulu is Meltemi's newest crew member and his energy is unbelievable. He's constantly cleaning the yacht below and above deck - or ready to give you a hand when you return from a island trip. Before joining Burma Boating, Lulu worked on a sport fishing yacht - so he also makes sure there's always fresh seafood.
