A nice Christmas gift for Burma Boating...

… and for our guests! On December 14th our company will actually welcome nothing but a brand new boat, and what a boat... Without further ado please meet the amazing S55 Solar Yacht, from SILENT YACHTS ( silent-yachts.com )

The solar system: silence and sustainability

This unique hi-tech beauty will be the very first of its kind cruising on Asian seas. It is actually powered with 100% solar energy, which brings considerable advantages: a minimal environmental footprint of course, but also an unprecedented sailing comfort. The S55 will sail as silently over the waves as any sailboat, but without depending on the winds, just like motor boats. Even the usual generator noises when anchored will vanish and become a memory of the past, letting the passengers focus entirely on the magnificence of Mergui Islands landscapes and sunsets.

An ergonomic layout for a luxury comfort

Highest standards of quality, comfort and service remain a priority though. Up to six guests will enjoy three luxury rooms, each equipped with air conditioning and spacious private bathrooms. A vast panoramic saloon of 40m² will welcome the passengers for meals and common recreation moments. It is of course equipped with air conditioning as well. Finally, a flybridge, some sea-beds on trampolines and some sofas near the entrance of the saloon await you for chilling and sunbathing outside. Have a look by yourself with these 360° pictures from Silent Yachts company : http://www.i-yacht.de/en/panorama-tour The long-time sea Captain of the ship will ensure the whole cruise will happen in the best safety and comfort conditions, while our crew, composed of a qualified cook and bartender, and a deckhand, will provide five star meals, cocktails and room service and cleaning.

Quality and modernity

The whole conception of the boat is focused on the combination of the latest technology regarding engines, power, hull and decks architecture and materials, and a constant concern for the well-being of its passengers. The 2 silent 30Kw motors will drive the S55 at a max speed of 12 knots as quietly as a pleasure sailboat. While the structure of the boat relies on the highest safety standards materials and was designed to offer the best reaction to the pitch, the elegant design of the wooden floors and walls, the solar panels and the high quality of the various furniture from bathrooms to beds and saloon will bring this permanent feeling of luxury and quality. This buildup of modernity and ergonomy, of hospitality expertise and sober design, of silence and security, will make a cruise aboard the S55 in the Mergui Islands the most serene and qualitative experience anyone could ever dream of. The official commissioning of the S55 will happen on December 15th 2018, follow this link if you want to know more : https://www.burmaboating.com/s55

Introducing SY Meltemi, Our First Catamaran

Meltemi is named after a wind in the Mediterranean Sea. She is our first catamaran: a French-built Lagoon 500, one of the most successful yachts ever designed for high-end charter.

Her previous owner was a Malay princess. In 2015, Meltemi joined Burma Boating's fleet for private charters and our Luxury Sailing Adventure cruises in Myanmar's Mergui Archipelago.

Meltemi is easy to sail, all winches are electric and can be fully controlled from the large flybridge. She's a great yacht for groups of friends or families and there is lots of space to play or lounge. When under sail, most guests just love to lie in the nets at the bow with the water splashing below.

Sneak Preview: Introducing Our Classic Expedition Vessel MY Drenec

Here's a first look at our new yacht, the expedition vessel MY Drenec, which will be joining our fleet with the beginning of the coming season in November 2015. Drenec is a beautifully designed and very well-equipped luxury yacht. In her previous life, Drenec spent years exploring the Indian Ocean and remote areas such as the Arctic. We will keep you updated on our new cruises!

Introducing SY Scame

We are excited to introduce to you the newest addition to our fleet: the elegant one-master "Scame", just in time for the holiday season. For a more detailed overview of Scame, have a look at www.burmaboatin.com/scame.

Starting in early December 2014, Scame will be cruising Myanmar's Mergui Archipelago and can now be booked for private charter. Scame is a timeless sailing yacht constructed at the renowned Sangermani Shipyards. She is a 72-foot wooden cutter with three double cabins and six berths and the perfect yacht for families or groups of up to six people.

Scame will be available for the regular charter rate of EUR 1,500 per night. During the holiday season from 21 December to 10 January, the rate is EUR 1,900 per night. Get in touch to book your classic cruise vacations or if you have any questions!

Scame has been cruising around the globe continuously for the past 35 years before joining our fleet in the Mergui Archipelago. Scame is fast and comfortable and her friendly captain is probably the most experienced yachtsman on the seven seas. There is a relaxed family atmosphere aboard Scame and her skilled crew of four is more than happy to share their love and knowledge of the oceans.

Sailing yacht Scame can accommodate up to six guests in three cabins. The very large aft cabin has a double and single bed as well as desk and plenty of storage space. Additionally, Scame features a cabin with two single berths and another cabin with a double bed on her starboard side. All cabins have access to one of altogether two guest washrooms with showers. The yacht is fully air-conditioned and all cabins have fans.

The classy wooden interior of the whole yacht breathes maritime flair. From the flush teak deck, you step down into the saloon, which is centrally positioned between the aft cabin and the double-bed cabin on the one hand and the galley and the twin-bed cabin on the other. There is a comfortable leather couch arranged around a coffee table, which can miraculously unfold into a large dining table.

The galley is well-equipped with fridge, freezers, stove and all necessary kitchen equipment. Just beyond the galley are the captain’s and crew quarters - two cabins with their own washroom - and all are separately accessible from above deck.

German Yacht Magazine Features Burma Boating

German magazine Yacht writes about Burma Boating in an article titled "Mysterious Asia". The text highlights the latest addition to our fleet: "The star of the show is the William Fife schooner ‘Sunshine‘".

It's just a short story but we're excited to be featured again in one of Europe's oldest and most important yachting magazines. And doesn't Sunshine just look stunning when she's sailing?
